Girls with Vision grow up to be Women with Dreams

When you teach a boy, you teach an individual, but when you teach a girl, you teach an entire family.

It is a fact universally acknowledged that education happens to be one of the most empowering tools that can revolutionise anybody’s life. Good education doesn’t only help individuals make better decisions in their lives; it also enables them to pursue their dreams in a more passionate manner. What is unfortunate, however, is that a lot of people do not consider women’s education as important as men’s. Since women’s role in society is to cater to families and do domestic chores, a girl’s education, especially in rural areas of India, is always put on the periphery.

Before one starts to emphasise the need for education for women, it might also be insightful to underline that the lack of education weakens them and takes away from them the agency to make decisions for themselves. A good education does not only make women more respectful citizens of society, but she also finds herself in a more powerful position to take command of her life. It has been often observed that a lot of women want to study but cannot pursue it because of multiple social and political inhibitions. A major part of rural India does not believe in the idea of educating women, as they somehow associate it with feeding a woman’s mind with profane ideas. This, however, doesn’t hold true. We have had multiple instances in history where women have made a mark for themselves and have successfully run the government, their offices, and their homes.

Geetanjali Care, a non-profit organisation, does understand the gravity of the requirement of education in a girl’s life. A girl who is able to get a quality education can substantially improve the quality of her life in particular, and can send a constructive message to society in general. Geetanjali Care, a team of passionate and dedicated volunteers, has established ties with multiple successful institutions that have been working in the departments of girls’ education, girls’ health, and girls’ hygiene quite mindfully. All her requirements related to education, such as uniforms,  stationery, educational resources, are to be taken care of by the NGO. It is expected that the easy accessibility of the facilities will definitely encourage girls to attend school and get themselves acquainted with better knowledge and better lives.
